sprinter ignition barrel removal

anyone know how it comes out? Ive stripped everything off round it and theres no sign of a screw or a lug etc. My damn key snapped in two! Managed to drive home by stuffing one half in after the other!

Also, anyone foresee trouble when i get a new key and barrel with it not matching the immobiliser sensor?

Help!

Is the immobilser part of the main key?

What about taping the transponder bit under the dash and wiring a new key switch and starter button in? Just an option in case the new bits cost a fortune - assuming its feasible that is.

Get a new whole lock and chisel the old one off. U can usually tap the shear bolts round with a dot punch to get the lock off.

At work we tie the old key with the transponder in inside the ring and tie it up under the dash somewhere. Then just a normal key will work it. (But i didnt say that)

cheers lads - the key stopped working for a bit but eventually i found the shmia, as you'd expect 1st position and press the button. It had an anti theft cover over the mechanism that didnt help. Managed to leave it locked and secure too, which is a result! Just need a full lock set now. Stuff isnt going my way these days, but i suppose it could be a hell of a lot worse so i wont complain!

Cheers for the input anyway!

btw, where do you work danozeman, in case i need a new van
