believe this?

http://www.kitcarusa.com/?shownews=45

says 0-200 in 9 seconds, the most unbelievable bit being the 100-200 in 3 seconds. Must be a typo...

4s to 60, 6 to 100, 7.5 to 150 and 9 to 200. A 6 litre 12 cylinder car should be quick but those figures don't seem right. A car will get slower as you go up through the gears, there is no way round that. At first I thought it might be turbo lag or something but that would only be the case if you did 0-200 in one gear.

The other worrying thing is that he said he did 0-200 on the road.

That engine looks like a 1920s Aero engine! I can't believe it would work with a large flywheel, the weight of that to make it effective plus two V12 engines would make it far too heavy to go round corners apart from the gyroscopic action of the flywheel that would also act against changes in direction! Ithink this was posted a week early for an April Fool

Oh my, we had a Daf 66, awesome car! slow as hell, one gear forward, one back, and a squashy button for the windscreen washer. Brilliant.

Longer to get from 60-100 than from 150-200. I smell bullsh*t

Chris Beddows is a recognised figure in the kitcar scene in the States, but did he write the article? - which particular bit of road in Europe did they think it was safe for motoring journo's (renowned for their driving skills) to do 200mph on?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Interesting to note that there are no pictures of the engine bay or any of the 'all wheel belt drive'
Also, I can't see anyone being allowed to do 235 mph in their pride and joy on a simple dual carriage way, especially not a motor journalist can you? Remember all the fuss when James May did his 200mph run in the Bugatti Veyron?

What's that smell?

Hi,

Whilst This maybe in MPH I would think that it is more likely to be in KPH, especially after reading that he was doing 235 on the return journey.

Much easier just to do 88MPH and plug the flux capacitor in.

Could get back to the factory before you left, and it'd look like there was 2 cars, both of which you could sell.

Loadsa profit...

Of course, if you drive at a pace approaching the speed of light, time will dilate and then there'll be loads of time to build an even faster car...

Witha car of that shape, size and 'only' ~800bhp, 235mph would be his absolute Vmax.

There's just no physical way he'd be able to get to that in 7 seconds - despite people talking about an aerodynamic brick wall, it's actually it's an asymptotic thing so those last few mph would take ages.

Some very smelly claims in that article i think.

No.

Nice engine though, with it's exhaust valves on show like that, although it does look like a Duxford Liberty engine.

Its a shame there isin't any more info about the car... I'd like to think its true!

About the Flywheel acting like a Giroscope and making it hard to turn... if you have 2 counter rotating flywheels (like a Chinook helicopers rotors) they'd cancel each others Giroscopic out.
