Graeme - vista isnt that bad, you just need a min of 2gig of ram lol
I do, it's still a crock of....
Benzine - Vista isn't sorted yet!!! READ THIS
But I'd say it's more to do with the fact that the Vista security has been breached far too easy! SO M$ aren't making as much money
as they thought they would...

Personally the biggest selling point for me was WinFS and WTF happened?? Same thing as usual.
SQL 2005 wasn't gonna be released on time unless they cut features, so what happens.....

I agree 2 Gig of ram is needed to have all the fancy features (which people will say you don't need etc.. but isisn't that the whole point
of Vista really!).
Just to force peoples hand even more. Today I saw a game, Halo2 that said it would ONLY work on Vista PC's!

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

A friend of mine is still with 98se as it still does everything he wants/needs! So i'm keeping XP.
Do these people that try and brake our pc's with viruses target the latest OS? If i had 98SE would i be imune due to the viruses only attacking
XP or Vista?

Main computer: Ubuntu Linux
Old computer (used when I just HAVE to use Windoze): Windows 2000
Tired old laptop (used for Megajolt): Windows 2000
Very, very old Toshiba Libretto: Windows 98
I feel no urge to update any of them to MS's latest product...

Unfortunately not. there are still all the bugs that 98SE was susceptible to lurking around the internet somewhere and presumably a few additional
nasty ones which were created after MS and other stopped supporting the OS.

This is pretty much just the normal development cycle for MS (and a great deal other software companies), as soon as one product is on the shelves you
start thinking about the next one. It's an improvement on most of us on here, i'm already thinking about my next build and the current one
is still a very long way from being finished
