Trailer Hire

If you hired a trailer and it broke down who would you deem resposible for the recovery of it? possible reimbursment of your trackday expense that you never got to etc etc???

Has this happened to anyone on here?

I guess the answer really depends on where you hired it from. If it was from a reputable trailer hire place, then surely you would have signed some form of contract which covers these events.

If it was from a friend, then unless terms and conditions were agreed beforehand, they'll be down to you.

Phil

I severely doubt anyone/where would insure against knock-on costs such as loss of a trackday for hire of a trailer.

Recovery of trailer in event of incident should be agreed beforehand to avoid problems later on if the worst did happen otherwise it's your liability/responsibility I'd guess.

all imho.

Ned.

Yep Im pretty sure with any hire outlet that you'll sign away any right to claim for knock-on costs unfortunately, thinking in the extreme you could be delivering a £1m collectors Ferrari which got destroyed because of the wheel falling off and the trailer tipping over.

It would be worth trying to get something back on a good will basis though, depends how you approach them, if you've used them many times before and what the current situation is though I guess.

Read this, and at first was a little confused as to how a trailer can break down...

Most commonly would be brakes binding up and wheel bearing issues Id think.
