S reg Punto, hydraulic clutch?
My sister broke down yesterday, middle of nowhere in her 'S' reg Fiat Punto.
She joined the AA (I had no phone on me to go and tow her) AA took her to a garage outside which she'd broken down a couple of months ago
and who'd supposedly changed the clutch.
Just heard that she's been saying that it was getting harder and harder to change gear with clutch pedal needing to be pressed to a greater and
greater extent.
The garage have told her it's her 'hydraulics'.
Does a Punto of this era even have a hydraulic clutch?
Some sort of hydraulic gear change?
Just want to know if they're BS'ing her and we should take the car to a garage down the road that I do trust.
Cheers,
James

yes the punto has a hydraulic clutch, and yes the do often give up, which would give you stiff gearchange or not being able to change gear at all.
oh ye, they are well easy to change so why not do it yourself??
btw its the slave cylinder that probably gone, not the mastercylinder.

Hey mate,
Thanks for that.
Sadly, I really don't have time to do her car before the end of the month.
My girlf' wants to have a b'day party at the end of August in our new house and I have to fit a new bathroom, including a new floor, a new
ceiling downstairs, decorate 3 bedrooms and the sitting room, cove and skirt the entire house, plaster a chimney, fit new bannisters, build a shed,
fit 6 new doors, and plenty of other jobs!
At the same time, my car has a misfire and a water leak, and my Locost needs putting back together!
In fact, what the hell am I doing on the internet!
Cheers,
James

I hope she's at least mixing for you It's best to have your party before you get all the tidying up done, you won't mind the
accidents as much
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
