I've done it but it was a while ago and I can't remember the exact details but as I recall it just involved getting the car MOT'd (does the IOM require MOTs yet??) and filling in a form to get the DVLA to issue you with a UK age related plate.

I don't remember it being that expensive (<£100?) and it certainly wasn't difficult which is probably why I don't remember much about it

Not a lot of help probably I know

I'm currently registering a car I've imported from Ireland.

You need to complete V55/5 from the dvla. It needs a MOT before registering. and in my case needed a certificate of conformity fromthe manufacturer which costs me £70.
