recoring sky+ to video
hi everyone
im just trying to sort up this setup basically i can record a program from skyplus to my video but only when the tv is on !.
if i turn the tv off when i check back to see if the programm came out all i get is a black screen like its tried to record but no pic or sound.
any ideas

How are your scart sockets configured? Is you video connected to the sky box via your tv? ie does the sky go to the tv and then the tv to the video?
Is there a scart direct from you sky box to video?
Otherwise do you have a 'satellite monitor' or 'direct feed' type button on your video that you need to press?
I've come across the above on my parents setup, hope it's of some help?!

My guess is that you do not have a scart directly from the sky box to your video and you are recording the output from the TV scart connected to the
video. Which of course only works when the TV is on. Add a scart lead from sky to vid directly and make sure to select the correct AV channel on your
video.
