The Hart 420R - what a mill that is.

There was a car at Forrestburn today with a Hart in it - a Pilbeam MP62 and the sheer grunt from the engine was awesome.

I've seen a hart engine in bits (part of he block gone awol!) and the length of the block for a 2ltr is staggering, there are huge gaps between the cylinders for the cooling. It's a seriously large bore and small stroke too and the size of the oil fittings was enormous aswell from what I recall. It was out of a historic fia formula 2 single seater iirc. The chap said it got into bad harmonics at 11,000rpm so he ran a slightly milder cam in it

Ned.

beware, I've got yellow skin

I don't really know anything about the Hart 420R engine so I was going to search for it and found this chit from PistonHeads first, it's just a bit of rallying history but it made a nice little read, so I thought I'd share it

That must be a different car. That's a single cam motor.
