A grand day out.
We went to Papplewick pumping station today and saw the twin beam engines running. They were very impressive and as an extra there was a tour of the
now redundant 3,000,000 gallon underground reservoir. The brickwork inside it was like a cathedral with elaborate vaulted columns which would all
have been underwater when it was in use. See here for a good example of Victorian workmanship
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
