Williams F1 desktop News Software - I made this!
Hey guys,
I am still working hard on my la Bala middy project. It's getting a digi-dash tonight and I have the headlamp buckets finished now and just have
to paint them orange and hook up the wiring. I can't wait for the weather to break here in Phoenix so I can get back on the track with it.
I'm very much an F1 racing nut - so when Williams F1 and AT&T contacted my company to create a desktop news tool I was pretty excited.
Normally I make these desktop news communicators for Collegiate and Professional Athletics, and even though I like sports, I am much more of a
racing/motorsports guy.
I finished this one up yesterday and I would like your feedback on it.
Basically it's a free desktop program that has a news ticker and some other F1 news feeds, plus a countdown to the next race, weather, (and the
obligatory AT&T advert) on the back-end I have a web-scraper that searches the Internet for Williams F1 news. Whenever it receive new information
it will pop up a little alert in the tray.
Here it is showing the news tab:
I'm definitely interested in getting your feedback on it and it's free plus it's not spyware or any of that bullshit.
Made by me and my (day-job) company,

dunno how you have done it, but make sure you can download/update the search param for news etc. and make it auto updateable.
The above comments are always meant to be from the above persons perspective.

I think it's an excellent idea, but not sure if I personally would use it... just the fear of being haunted by the interspy monkeys I
guess....

Managing/adding your own news feeds is being developed right now as are multiple categories of other news such as politics, entertainment, world news,
etc...
c'mon Steve - If you fear the Interspy monkeys, why do you even surf the Internet at all? Ever heard of cookies? Because my program does
connect to the internet there is of course data being moved back and forth from server to client, but nothing gets tracked any more than when you
visit a website. In fact websites track the amount of time you spend on a page, where you came from, your browser, os, and much more! This program
does not care about that at all... It just wants you to see the AT&T advert...

I know, I know - but how do I know you're not scanning my PC for dodgy software/passwords and sh*t? The cookies I regularly delete and I
never automatically store my passwords on the PC either. It was meant a bit tongue in cheek actually
Have you any updates/pictures re: La Bala?
