UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Sure doesn't look like a "driver error" to me... but then what do I know?

Car wasn't in 4 wheel contact with the road over the bumps at the middle/end of the breaking zone, Monza is a bumpy place, combination of driver error (not allowing for low down force and bumps) and lack of effective suspension travel, dampers may have been set too hard on rebound.

if you look at the vid the rear wheel that is still there is stationary and the front is still turning, as engine was still running when he came to a stop I reckon gearbox problem.

I was impressed by the state of the body shell as it was lifted away - barely damaged. Everything else was torn off though!

It happened so quickly that I wonder if something broke as he slowed for the corner... the way it slid suddenly to his right as he approached a left-hander - I would have expected severe over-steer if he'd screwed up the approach.

Something broke.

The car speared off to the right just as he would have been turning in to the corner.

I'll go for transmission lockup.

I'd guess something locked the back end up.
