New Camcorder - may need repair

Im well chuffed. Just bought a Canon MV750i off the bay of E for £40. Its boxed, great condition, with extended battery but missing the SD card.

The downer is it has the intermittent fault that has plagued some camcorders made around 2004 (namely the ccd / lens is tempramental / unstable).

I bought it for the av in capability. Im led to believe that mini dv recorders are better than the ones that come with most bullet cams so for £40 its great.

My question now though, after being rather impressed at how good it is / should be, does anyone know anybody up North that can repair them for lcb rates?? Im tempted to get it fixed.

Dont suppose you know anyone with a good quality bullet cam for sale do you?

There is a problem with the CCD wiring on some models including the MV750i. It's a free repair. Got to

https://self-service.canon-europe.com/ce/pages/

select the model number and follow the readme details

Problem details:
Among the CCDs used in the affected products, it has been confirmed that in extremely rare cases, under high-temperature/high-humidity environments, some of the internal wiring comes off.

If this defect occurs, the signal is not output from the CCD correctly when in shooting mode. This results in image abnormalities such as:

Images do not appear
Image colors are abnormal
Images appear distorted
These symptoms can be confirmed on the LCD monitor.
Solution:
We kindly request users who have confirmed these symptoms to contact the nearest Canon Service Centre.

Free repairs will be made for affected products in cases where it has been confirmed that the internal CCD wiring has come off.
