Lesson for today
Well I took the Phoenix for its first MOT this morning (couldn't persuade DVLA that I didn't need on yet) and passed no problem.
Got home and decided I was going to finally get around to tidying up my trailer I bought off a mate a few months ago. So I went to buy 5L of paint
then to work to collect the trailer where I am keeping it. Just as I was turning into work then can of paint, which I had stood up in the passenger
footwell, fell over. I look down to see that the lid had come off and there is now 5L of fast drying white enamel paint sloshing around on the
carpets. I've managed to clean everything but the carpet which is absolutely ruined. Fortunately the carpet is in sections and is not one piece
for the whole car.
I've just emailed everyone breaking saab 9-5s on ebay looking for the right bit.
So todays lesson is not to stand tins of paint unsupported in your car or you too will spend 5 hours clearing up the mess.
I'm now waiting for the 3rd bit of bad luck. While on holiday I managed to reverse the same car into a tree stump. Fortunately I hit the exhaust
and not the bumper but the exhaust is now slightly shorter than it should be.

Unlukcy about the paint! Sods law isnt it, takes the world biggest screwdriver to get the lid off when you need it, and when you dont, it pops off.

Sometimes, when you buy a can of paint, you get little spring clips to hold the lid down.
I save mine for 'risky situations'...

Well the third thing happened today. Went out in the phoenix smelt something warm and thought it might be my rear brakes as i tightened up the
handbrake for the MOT. No blue discs when I got back but found the end of the exhaust touching the bodywork. On closer inspection I found that the
mounting rubber has failed - the bonded plate on the exhaust side is now not bonded to the rubber.
