Apparently they don't spin anymore (the gov that is, not the jets..)
From: 10 Downing Street Petitioning System
RedArrows2012 - epetition reply27 September 2007
We received a petition asking:
"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics."
Details of Petition:
"The Department of Culture, Media and Sport have deemed the RAF Red Arrows as Unsuitable for the 2012 Olympics because they are too British.
This is a ridiculous decision and should be overturned in the name of common sense."
The Government's response:
"The e-petition asking the Prime Minister to 'to Allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics' is ongoing. This is a response in
advance of the closing date from the Government.
It is not true to suggest that the Government has banned the Red Arrows from celebrations to mark the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The organising committee of London 2012 will decide what to include in the celebrations - but with five years to go, decisions are yet to be made on
what the celebrations will look like, although you can be assured that they will be a spectacular showcase of Britain's best."
Translation: "Here's a fob off to keep you bunch of troublemaking gits quiet and even though we've decided to ban them because
we're scared that it might upset a couple of countries that still allow their population to eat dogs/children and by the way buy a lovely lot of
missiles/planes from us each year, rest assured that you'll never, ever know about it, teehee..."
If you pay peanuts...
Mentale, yar? Yar, mentale!
Drive it like you stole it!

" -- you can be assured that they will be a spectacular showcase of Britain's best."
On the athletics field -
A mass group hug of Outreach Counsellors and Health and Safety Advisers ?
In the Swimming Pool -
Demonstration of PCSOs watching children drown ?
Gymnastics Hall -
Rolling over backwards when faced with Brussels Bureaucracy ?
Television Coverage -
Wall-to wall fiddling of results
I can see it all now

The news seems to be whatever the reporters wants it to be at the time. I gave up believing the "news" as 100% fact a long time ago. Just
need to look at the way the Medeline McCann case has been reported really
