Hannspree LCD tvs

Does anyone have any experience of Hannspree lcd tvs? Looking a their Xv 37" one.

All the specs look good and someone at work said they manufacture the screens for some of the more well known brands.

My brother-in-law came and asked me if there was such a thing as a good/cheap LCD screen and I pointed him in the direction of Hanspree (they also make the HannsG computer monitors). I've got the dubious title of AV guy off my inlaws as I built a cinema room a few years back and spent enough money on it to build another Mac#1 I reckon. Money well spent though as the whole family enjoys using it.

Just make sure you get the later JT02 version, it's got a much better contrast ratio (1200:1) and comes with two hdmi ports, you do lose the PiP of the older model though, but who really uses that?

I got him his from Here Ebuyer do it slightly cheaper but there specs are all over the place. You can't make out if they're selling the old one or the new one.

Cracking LCD for the money, good picture from SD broadcasts via freeview and an even better one using a HD source. Well made too with a nice gloss black surround (a-la Samsung). Thinking of getting one myself so can't say anymore than that

Cheers

I've got the 32" version which (for the money) is fine, not sure that I would have it for my main TV though.

Well they must be made better than the LCD monitors as it does not look cheap and set up correctly (using an AVIA dvd good cables and a decent source) they have a cracking picture, not a million miles away from my Sony Bravia and that's only about 18 months old.

I have the 37" JT02 model and second what orbital says. Cracking display, good picture on freeview and excellent with a DVD source. The only thing I can fault it on is the sound which is a bit 'tinny' but it is acceptable and not a problem if you have a 5.1 sound system or similar.

I bought a hannsG 19" monitor that is, quite frankly, crap particularly compared to 19" monitors I bought from Aldi! Maybe TVs are better but I am not in a hurry to buy from them again. The monitor is prone to ghosting on small text and flashing pixels on high contrast borders in images, the supplier's reaction was "they are all like that, what do you expect for the price"
