Papparazi putting lives at danger?

<rant>

just watching the news to hear of our much beloved monarchy complaining about the papparazi putting the princes life at danger.

ok then, so does a flash bulb put someones life at danger? dont think so!
or does some idiot telling the driver to speed up put lives at danger

if they dont want photos taken, paint the windows black.

Grrr £50m a year drain on our taxes...

</rant>

(edit, i still cant spell)

Interesting, so how do you stand when the gatso blinds you and you crash then?

Or indeed if the car infront sets the gatso off and you crash?

I went to see Jethro at the Mayflower and he said a friend of his died when the flash went off. Turns out he was struck by lightening.

Yup, but 10 years ago (which is what this is all about) if you were to have suggested on an internet forum that the 'peoples princess' should have taken alternative security measures on the night she died you would have suffered a flaming such that someone like CalvinX could only have dreamed about giving (was there, did that, got flamed ) .

You had to be there to understand just how incomprehensibly weird it all was and that if you didn't agree with the prevailing mood that it was really better to say nothing rather than risk getting the cr*p beaten out of you by saying the equivalent of ' am I bothered?'

IMHO Paparazzi are scum. How would you like to have no private life??? Being chased in and by cars by people who will go all out for THAT picture. Are you really interseted in what a Celeb says does or how drunk they are?? do you want to know what colour their knickers are. In the great scheme of things they are not that important. In your face at all times and I MEAN right in your face with cameras. I think they should all just F**K off and die. Rant over

I was a Pap once - and yes I did take a few pictures of Diana outside The Ivy.

As long as consumers buy the magazines and papers that buy the pictures then people will take them - that's a fact of life. And the money can be huge - I was minding my own business on Miami beach, noticed Peter Springfellow and his 16 year old girlfriend in matching g-strings rubbing oil into each others bums, took a couple of pictures, then sold them to the News of the World when I got home - for £5k - and I wasn't even their looking for celebrities.

Don't judge the Pap's if you buy any pubications that prints their photo's.

If you court the press as so many celebs do - then you have to except all elements of what they do.

I often asked celebs if they wanted their picture taken. These people WANT to be in the papers, and if they have a moment to compose themselves and look good they're more than happy - one of the best pic I got was Lord Lichfield on his his new Triumph. I gave him a moment to pose up and look good - and he was absolutely charming and happy to have his picture taken.

I gave it up because I found it too seedy and hard work - I had this realisation after spending 8 hours in Marlybone police station after Patsy Kensit claimed I'd assulted her (which of course I did not - I didn't go within 30 feet of her) - but I did make the papers the next day

If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

my orignal rant was acctually about the royals and not the paps,

the thing with fame is they cant pick and choose the bits they want and not the others, if the royals want their £50m a year packet of our tax then they damn well put up with the pictures

just because someone is trying to get a pic of you doesnt mean that they have to drive at 100 mph just to get away, just paint the windows black

and on a practicallity point of view, paps tend to "chase" on bikes so whats the point in trying to drive your executive car away from a bike that can do pretty much twice the speed of your car??

I dont really have a problem with the paps, but i do have a problem with people complaining about paps then going down the shops to get a copy of some celeb magazine.

if people didnt buy those crappy magazines there would be no paps
