eBay question ?

As title really

I let the Jester sell on ebay because of needing my drive back, having no time and no place to keep it over the winter.

The winner has already made one offer to collect and was a no-show didnt even ring, just sends messages through eBay.

He says that he wants it but.............

My question to you lot is how long is reasonable to give him to collect before making other plans ?

I want to avoid bad feedback but I allso need the drive back.

Cheers

I think if you arranged with him to collect it and he didn't I'd send him and e-mail saying you've sent a 2nd chance offer to the person with the second highest bid and whoever gets to your place first can buy it...

Will soon sort out how keen he / she is.

If he keeps promising to turn up and doesnt show then tell him he needs to provide you with a deposit via paypal or a cheque (which must clear before collection) as a guarantee that he will eventually turn up......You could also add that if he doesnt turn up to collect within a set time, the deposit will be lost and the car will be sold to someone else...

I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago, the guy seemed really dodgy, wouldnt pay a deposit etc, kept arranging to turn up and didnt come.....Eventually, just as I was loosing faith, he phoned me and set things straigt....came two weeeks later to get the item in question

He has offered to pay twice but if I take it I will have to sit on the car untill he is good and ready.

I just wanted a swift collection

Is it taxed?

If not, take the money, fill in the log book with his details and then stick it out on the road...

If you file a "none paying bidder" report, he doesn't get to leave feedback.

As already suggested take a non returnable deposit, if he doesn't collect on arranged date he loses it.

Ask him for a deposit. I give people a week to collect.. Most listings say "must be collected within 7 days of auction end"..

Tell him hes got until friday to collect or something or its relisted and file a non payer dispute to get your fees back.
