It says you will need one of these, so your looking at about £100. Not sure if it would work, but if it says it takes about 2 hours it cant be that simple.

Its one thing to load a 'remapping' prog but its another thing entirely to be able to use it!

If you are serious about getting every ounce of power out of your engine then take it to a professional with a rolling road - it might cost you a bit more than £3.99 but at least you've got half a chance of keeping the oily bits inside the engine

Would you take someone who writes "break" horse power instead of brake horse power. He might be trying to tell you something subliminally

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

To be honest, anyone can make a mistake in spelling.

On Ebay, there are some 5 different people selling the same Software with thier own text fonts with all the same contents and vehicle listings all from £4.00 to £30.00.

Granted a ecu flasher and cables would be needed, again on ebay these run at approx. £40.00 to £70.00

A friend of mine wants to increase his power on a 306 HDI like you can on a Pug 1.9Tdi by increasing the fuel and boost from 90 to approx. 115hp. So either he buys something like this or pays someone £250 or more, to do it in the same way, as you see advertised on Google for remappers etc..

Do not worry about any further thinks or replies on this topic.

I've been doing a search on google on this topic. The devices are old hat and will not work on 2004+ ECUs. Basically the Flasher and Maps they sell are not reliable in the sense, where it takes some 2 hrs to write the chip and if during this time your laptop freezes or whatever, Your done!!! you have to get someone to remove the chip and use a specialist device to redo it.

So I've told my mate to spend his bucks on a specialist dealer to do it for him.

Thanks for your help.
