TAX
Does anyone know if i can use the confirmation e-mail to get tax or do i have to wait a few days for the certificate to come through?

I'm in the same position, got insurance yesterday and waiting for cert. I think you have to use the certificate itself

Why not buy the tax online? You should be able to do it the day after you take out the insurance if the system is working properly.

but then you have to wait for the disk to come in the post anyway

Very true, but the tax tends to arrive quite quickly and at least if you have paid for it and are just waiting for the piece of paper you will
probably be let off if stopped. It's very rare for anyone to actually check the paper disc these days as it's much more efficient and
reliable to just look up the registration on the database.

I got my cert emailed and printed it on good quality paper then took it to the post office and got my tax disc. Job done.

they are going to send it out to me special delivery. should be here by tomorrow.
