Planning a holiday
Iv decided to take my little sister on holiday (my first in about 6 years ) to canada in the summer holiday next year. We are planning to hire a
motorhome, sorry RV .
Are there any websites that i can use to plan our trip and is there anything i should or shouldnt do in booking a holiday?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

How long are you planning to go and which side of Canada.
I travelled from BC to Alberta then hopped over to Toronto - and then went to live in Vancouver for 4 years

I took 3 weeks but 4 would have been better.
IIRC (not necessarily in exactly this order)
Vancouver - excellent relaxed city, Aquarium and Stanley park are very good. If you get a chance hire Kayaks in Deep Cove and head up the inlet
(after a Cove Man breakfast). Museum of Anthropology at UBC is interesting. Mountains are worth a days walking. Go to Hon's for lunch (on
Robson Street), the potstickers are the thing I miss most about leaving! Plan to be in town for the at least one night of the annual firework
competition - the 'celebration of light' (late July early August) if you can.
Whistler lots of waterfalls on the coast road and you can go glacier skiing all year around.
Victoria very pretty if a little 50's England in nature.
Tofino Bit of a hippy get away, but the beaches (Long beach for example) are amazing. Hiking the west coast trail is a holiday in itself. Best
place for Whale watching - either on the cruisers or the RIBs depending on whether you like to relax or scream across the sea.
Then across the Okanagan valley and Kelowna - the wine and fruit growing region, touring the wineries, obviously
Jasper national park and the Columbia ice fields. Glaciers, bears and elks. Wilderness once you get free of the tourist buses.
Harrison hot springs.
Lake Louise - the obligatory stop.
Banff - the whole area is stunning.
Calgary - no idea it was raining glass walking sticks all the time I was there
Flew to Toronto which has a far more urban feel, but is the obvious stop to visit Niagara falls. The CN tower is also worth a visit.
We hired a car and pre-booked hotels and motels using travelbag, but RV's are well catered for with plenty of camping grounds.
Putting the above place names into google should give you everything you need to know, get lonely planet or equivalent to plan your route/travel
schedule - it's easy to give yourself too far to drive in a day.

planning a holiday
Start off in Halifax, See the Gaspe, Then Cape Breton, fun drive, go clockwise if she is squeemish. then Gaspe, south shore of the St. Lawrence to
Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, north shore of Lake Superior. that will take about two weeks and 3000 miles. Fly from Winnipeg to Calgary (the praries
are so flat you can watch your dog runaway for three days). From Calgary to Vancouver by road, another week then fly home.
