brother may need heart valves replaced

my brother had his normal diabetic checkup, was told he would get results 4 weeks later, next day can you come into hospital now, was told he has a heart problem.

has not been feeling 100% over the last couple of weeks.

they ran test at the local hospital, but now needs to go over to Blackpool for further test. But they suspect an infection of the heart which could mean IV drips or worse case replacement heart valves.

He was born with a hole in the heart but has not bothered him for the last 36 years.

so good on the NHS when they have to pull there finger out they do not mess around.

I'll second that, if you have anything truly serious they suddenly get rather efficient.

Good luck for your brother, IV drips are just annoying, let's hope it's enough to sort the problem.

Hope all goes well...
Intravenous drips are indeed a bit of a nuisance but tend to work very well (ie they get the abx straight into the bloods and thereon to the heart)...
Fingers crossed....

Hope all goes well. Last month my son went to the doctor with a chest pain and luckily the doctor thought he should go for an x-ray right away. He was kept in for 4 days with a partialy collapsed lung And not long after that my Dad had 3 heart attacks in a week and was saved twice by excellent staff . Both on the road to recovery now. As you can guess the locost has moved down the priority list again.

Good Luck Keep smiling

Ronnie

been to see my brother and a bit of a update.

had a check up at Blackpool and they where ok, but he has been told

blood cultures are growing he mentioned a figure of 26 what ever that means but doc says it is high.

he has to stay in hospital at least another 2 weeks, having 6 iv drip bags per day, i think it is penicillin.

£1.80 to park for upto 3 hours,
