How to read Ford Focus engine codes ?

As the title, can it be done without resorting to the stealers ?

Bit like the paperclip trick on Vauxhalls.

Got a 2002 1.6 Zetec that's misfiring. Comes and goes and despite full service
and the engine light has come on.

Suspecting EGR problem.

There simply HAS to be a Ford expert on here surely ?

After 2000 cars in the EU have to be EOBD compliant. Surely its a case of a code reader etc off Ebay. Then read the fault codes.

Just make sure you get one that has the right bus, for your car, as I'm no expert.
