Insurance companies

Dealing with insurance companies - wading through treacle?

I think the treacle thing is easier

A week and a half after the accident they still can't decide if they are going to write car off or not.

in the meantime they are spending over £600 per week on hiring a vehicle for me

where's the treacle?

It usually takes at least a year to settle claims, sometimes much longer.

Lawyers drag it out as much they can and have never heard of e-mails

Yes it was the GT JTDm. I really liked it and I am keen on having it replaced with another. The suspension is best described as firm but I like it that way - the engine is the pick of the bunch and the interior is a very nice place to be. The GT is suprisingly practical too - the seats fold down to give a huge space - I can tow a caravan or a car on a trailer with it
and carry everything I need for a days hill climb including the easy up gazebo!

Tall people struggle in the back but it is a 4 seater just.

I don't know if you saw the Top Gear review of the Alfa Brera - they all said that they would buy one, but that they couldn't recommend to a friend? well it's a bit like that. If you like the car enough, you can forgive its regular visits to the garage - if you want totally reliable buy a merc or a honda. But then they don't stir the blood like an alfa can.

Buy one with a long warranty and sell it before it expires and you won't regret it

Cheers
