Belgian travel??

OK folks who's been to the Belgian grand prix before??
What's the best way to get from the track to your accomodation on the 3 race days (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Are there extra local buses laid on?
I'm thinking about flying into Brussels then train to vervier and bus to accomodation in Jalhay.
That all looks fairly simple to organize But as the sites won't let me book to far in advance what sort of costs are involved?
I could hire a car but it seems crazy money for the amount of use I'd be getting from it over 4 days.
Hope some of you can help/advise me either on the open forum or by U2U.

Done it many times.
The hotels in the Malmedy/Francorchamps region are usually fully booked years in advance, we stay around Maastricht in a place called Vise, just over the Belgian border, takes about 45 -60 mins to get in and out. Liege/Luik may be worth trying but expect to pay a premium for that weekend. Vise is a lovely little town with great bars and as you'd expect great beers!

Public car parks are plentiful and shuttle buses run to and from, last time we went they were free.

Best place to park is around Francorchamps itself, plenty of gardens and fields opened up for public parking and 2 mins off the main drag the E42/A27, also lots of cafes and bars in Francorchamps.

If you have Bronze tickets you might be better off steering clear of Francorchamps as its a bit of a slog to a Bronze viewing area from Francorchamps.

It's worth investing in decent tickets for Belgium, Bronze areas are either on very fast straights or high (and I mean high) above fast corners in the South East end of the circuit. There are few tarmac areas so expect to hike through muddy forest paths to get anywhere, don't underestimate the amount of walking that may be involved in getting to and from a good spot.

The main retail areas and catering are all around
the Eau Rogue, La Source in the middle of the track, if you are at Malmedy it will take you a good hour to walk back.

Nurburg is only about another 90 minutes of hard driving on from Spa, why not combine a GP with a blat round the Ring!

Ok I've got gold4 (eau Rouge numbered seats) and the accomodation is already booked at Jalhay (16KMS). I just want to be sure that at the race weekend I can get from here to the track easily by bus (Or even with a reasonably priced taxi).

sat at Eau rouge a few years back and the view was outstanding. As I was at the back corner not only could I see the full length of the straight upto La Source but could also see right across to the bus stop and the pit entrance !!!

If you plan on watching the big screen bring binoculars with you as it is right at the bottom of Eau Rouge.

a word of warning - when it rains it pours so full wet weather gear is highly recomended

If you can see the hills around the circuit it's about to rain.
If you can't see the hills around the circuit, it's already raining
