I use Direct Line for 'Buildings' and 'Contents'.

Only had to claim once, no problems or 'third degree'...all straight forward, and didn't notice a hike in my next premium when it came up for renewal......

We have our house and contents with Direct Line as well . Few years ago we had our apartment robbed when we were on holiday, holiday insurance company didn't want to know. D.L paid up promtly and with no hassles. They get my money.

strangely, i would say don't go with direct line, they're part of RBS. i'm biased though, i work for RBS and they've done nothing but screw me over!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Personally, I renew my home & contents insurance annually through confused.com or moneysupermarket.com etc, and always go with the cheapest provider on a like for like basis. Two times out of three, I've ended up with Legal & General although the premiums have been massively different depending on the comparison site used.

I did mine through Tesco.com as they were offering 50% off. This is of course, utter bollox as they were only about £10 cheaper than direct line.
