can anyway tell me why travelers put horses heads made of wood over there camps on there houses, caravans etc etc ?

you put wallpaper or paint on the walls inside your house, they do what they want to do to decorate their homes

My uncle makes Romanie Gyspy caravans for a living (the proper wood ones). His signature mark is a large carved horses head on the front door in gold leaf.

So I imagine it harks back to when they were horse draw.

Its probably a bit like Canal boats having Roses and Castles painted on the doors. A bit of tradition me thinks.
