New Exhaust Fitted
OK so it's been a bit of time since I posted any pics, after more work than I bargained for, here is a pic of my modified R1 Can fitted along
with a CAT.
Just back in from the garage, been spraying some of the interior panels before I fit them.
Cheers
Ian

Looking good Ian, did you do the alterations to the can, or did some one else do it. I need to see Andy about doing mine.

Hi there
Did my own, as I had a titanium can it made it a little harder, the Outlet on the can is steel, so I just welded on the 90 degree bend and but a
radius on the tail pipe, that was the easy part.
The Inlet was titanium, so this had to cut off back to the can. I then had to make up a stainless flange to bolt to the can to get a stainless input
which I then welded the CAT on to.
I think the Carbon R1 cans have steel inlets so that is the one to go for.
Cheers

I already have the can fitted, but it's as it came off the bike, needs lengthening and the bend putting on, a nice little job for this winter me
thinks.

This is my next job on the list!
Looks great by the way.
Where did you source the 90 degree rolled ended exit from? I can weld this in place as (as you say) the exit is steel but again I'm going to
have to get an adaptor fitted to the titanium end... Any info on sources for this adapter and pictures? They'd be much appreciated!
I'm using the Richard Miles method of inserting this type of CAT into the rear of the can and welding it up, to give me a little more room
between the rear arch and the exit of the can.
This is where I've got to in my alterations...
How to remove the CAT from an R1 silencer...
And this is similar to what I want to achieve...
Richard Miles R1 alterations...
Ta for any info...
Chris.
