for some disgraceful reason you will normally get charged with criminal damage....

maybe if the damage is less then the fine? since it is '£50 to remove the clamp' you could say that you dont need to pay, as you removed it yourself!

bloody annoying bastards, i think the best plan is call them out to remove it and turn the twat over when he get there! or maybe buy a clamp and stick it on their van when they arrive!

I used to take them off all the time when I was at uni. The idiot security guards were always poo scared of scratching up my alloys and because the car was so low they could never get the thing on properly.

I used to jack the car up, put loads of cardboard between the clamp and the rim to stop it scratching, then pull the thing off from below.

They told me they would withold my degree until I paid. Never did tell them I had given up the course the term before and was working there not studying!!

There was an escapologist on TV this weekend, who undid the lock on a clamp as a favour to someone...
...left all the bits (intact) neatly stacked on the pavement as she drove off!

if you take the clamp its theft
else leave it by the side of the road, dont leave the bits of the lock about and drive off. if they trace you deny anything and say it wasn't clamped when you came back it then up to them to prove it was you who tampered with the thing.

does anyone have any experience of the normal ones? are they held on with padlocks or some other lock. i figure a big pair of shears in the boot may get thru it, or maybe a hacksaw.

I have heard the tale of "angle grinder man" in london who goes around with a petrol powered grinder and just chops them off.

I'm not sure if he does it just for himself, or vigilante-style, or for hire, or what..

Angle grinder man does it for any clamp he sees doesent charge anything so whoever has been clamped is not liable.
he also started a web site with a phone no but was closed down .

Drill the lock stright through the key hole with a 5mm drill bit then a 8mm bit then hit with a hammer lock falls off on its own
SO I AM TOLD!!!!
