Ok so it looks old now but there have been few times when a manufacturer was so bold with such a risky design, I remember when they came out and my
dad got one as a company car, it looked very strange.

Indeed, the Ford Sierra was a HUGE deal when it came out - people forget and it seems trivial now but at the time it was replacing the Cortina with
that 'newfangled jelly mold' shape......hugely controversial at the time:-)

I remember my Grandad (who is still with us!) going from an Anglia to a succession of new Cortinas. I don't think that he had a Mk 1 but he
definately had a 2, 3, 4 & 5. He used to tell us all the benefits of RWD compared to FWD etc etc. When the Sierra came out, he just couldn't
come to terms with its looks and bought an Orion!
