London Congestion Charge
OMG!
Just been reading HERE
that the new £25 a day charge will apply to all vehicles older than 2001!
An residents within the zone who come into this bracket will not be eligible for the 90% rebate!
So if you live inside the congestion zone and own a car older than 2001 yo now have to pay red Ken £25 a day for the privelidge

Looking here, it seems that the 2001 rule will only be enforced for vehicles with
engines larger than 3 litres. Looks like I get swmbo's car for the day if she needs to drive into London then...

If you read any reputable news websites you'll see that if your car is pre 2001 you only pay the £25 a day charge if the engine is over
3000cc.... however the whole 'congestion charging' idea is still a load of tosh I agree

Yet another tax on easy targets, the working man/women who have to use a car.
Ken livingston is so detached from the real world.
I work 12 hr shifts and cannot get out of using my car unless I want to spend 3 hrs in the morning, going by nightbus.
What with the new tax relief being abolished for foriegn investers aswell, london will suffer a slow down while all of the businesses start exiting
to outside london.
£125 per week to go to work is taking the p*ss.
I want to vote the b^stard out but the only choices are Boris Johnson (raving loony monster party) the green party (worse) or the liberal (ex-copper
party).
Perhaps we should have the "locost" party?

Oh I don't know, it makes for a nicer trip for the city types in their monster merc's/porsche's/ferrari's etc and for their
missus dropping off the kids at public school in the 4x4. Not only can they afford it, but they probably claim it all back off the taxman anyway (can
they still claim their car is a minicab for the £100 fee and get the charge waived? that was on top gear a while back).
So red ken is actually batting for the new aristo's
