Jonathan Ross show (Torch with 9 mile range)
Did anyone watch the show last night. he had a torch on there that could preject 9 miles and cook objects close to it. I probably cant afford one but
he never said who made it so I cant find out.
anyone know what it's called?

From what he was saying, it gives a whole new meaning to the term 'hot dog'
Link doesn't appear to work

It seems that there are other 'world's most powerful' torches out there
http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2008/01/the_torch_worlds_brightes.html
With this one you can start fires, scramble eggs and although it doesn't mention it, probably use it as a torch too And all for $300

Ralf Ottow was standing in front of his bathroom mirror one morning when he noticed that his forehead was sunburned. He hadn’t been out tanning—his
homemade flashlight had fried his skin.

It looks easy enough, get a big million candle power type torch and the discharge lamp and gear out of a Xenon car headlight then find enough
batteries to power the thing and of you go for about 5 mins until the batteries croak then recharge again! Certainly can be done in a reasonably
locost way if you want, but beware of the lamp UV output, you can get arc-eye from these things!
