Mondays...

Who here actually feels worse than they did on Friday? I sure do. That tin of coffee has its work cut out

I think a bit like casual Fridays, Mondays you should be allowed to bring in recreational drugs to help get through the day. Of course you'll get the old farts claiming this will be the end but that’s nothing new.

I'm just to lazy to log off

Today has not be helped by one of the other planners issuing the wrong plan to all the senior managers and then over righting the latest version with last weeks. All because he was in too much of a rush to get to a concert. I’m not a happy bunny.

Im well tired today, but that cos of my housey hobby. Ive spent all weekend ripping out a kitchen, bathroom, fireplace, tiles off walls, stripping wall paper etc.

Overall i enjoyed it but hobby is not conducive to a relaxing weekend to recharge one batteries.

My trouble with Mondays is this

- Spend a busy weekend doing shed loads of household DIY, feel knackered

- Spend weekend stress testing your liver and doing dodgey dance moves, feel knackered

- Spend weekend chilling in the countryside, feel to relaxed too go back to work....

Oh well

I spent a lovely weekend up in Orford on the Suffolk coast. Lovely weather (t-shirts in February!!) and I saw

3* hares
1* little egret (which I got sadly excited about seeing)
100+ avocets (which I got even more excited about seeing)
2* partridges

Luckily for the partridges and the hares I only had some binoculars on me and not a 12-bore....

... and I'm now so chilled out that I really can't be bothered to see grotty sneezy people. Hohum....

I feel GREAT!!

I have seen one hare my entire life, it was a huge monster, I'm sure it ate people.

Feeling good today I have to say. Spent the weekend landscaping the garden in the sunshine, helpfully assisted by my 2 yr old son (maybe more hinderance than help really). Didn't get to take the car out in the sun, but I will be out for a lunchtime blast today

I'm self employed and as such have elected to 'work from home' today. Mondays are so much easier that way - go through all the emails and stuff you don't get chance to do through the week while people can only bother you if you decide to answer the phone, but they can't walk up to your desk and hassle you.

In which case can you do something about the endless estates of identical boring red brick boxes we have down here now please????

This is how to do a Monday - I'm off later to big night of Drum and Base with Roni Size - mind you, I'm taking tomorrow off to recover

A bad time brought on by others

I'm doing the work scheduling for a dozen or so ROV support vessels and a heap of ROV's. Now finding that the previous planner had built absolutely no slack into the schedule so now even the slightest delay is a disaster and each of the ships are using over 10 tonnes of fuel a day! I could turn to drink from all this , hang on I’ve already done that…..

Jasper.. the wrong type of planner, i manage time and logistics not the layout and look

i agree that the majority look crap, but we are leaders in building sustainable communities and work at the premium end of the market.

having said that i am currently involved in innner city regeneration projects, knock down 500 flats and replace with 1500. it's what Ken wants

Mr Whippy, i feel for you, i've been left in that situation before some people claim to be planners and logistics managers but they could not plan their way out of a paper wet bag

have a scotch for me will you as i try and think of why we are the best and deserve this project........... no can't think

I thought i would avoid the Monday issue altogether and took the week off to hopefully finish the car but instead spent 8 hours replacing the water pump on my V6 Galaxy.
What a job... first remove headlight and grill + anything that you can get to including MAFF airbox etc Then when you get as far as removing the old pump you find that you have to remove the engine mount and jack engine up and forward, then do it all in reverse, so another hour or two tommorow to put all the trim back, well all the trim that i have not demolished.
And while i was doing this the kit car was looking all falorn beging me to go and do some more to it, tommorow i promise as long as the clutch on the Vauxhall holds out
