Mapping Software

Hi

Does anyone know of any (preferably cheap or free) mapping software that allows you to display locations that have been imported via their postcodes?

My wife needs to map 1000 UK businesses geographically so she can work out martketing territories.

Cheers
Gary

MS Autoroute lets you plot various routes according to preferences - would that be any good? Or how about one of the GPS units which save all your favourites and then plot most economical journeys?

You can build your own maps in Google Maps although I'm not quite sure about importing formats (GeoRSS???)
