Tin Top
I've been looking at Mondeo Diesels today (2000-2005) models.
I looked at one and the water in the expansion tank was low (below the minimum)
Now the way I understand it is this is a totally sealed system.
My thoughts on causes are:
Head gasket, leaking radiator, leaking hoses. Does anyone know of this being a problem on these engines (TDCI)
I thought if I decide to buy I would get their mechanic to check the system and pressure check it. I would like to walk away but I like the car.
Thoughts any other comments welcome.

I always ignore my gut instincts and regret it!! There are plenty more Mondeos, so walk away.
Having said that, what's to say the car has never been topped up properly and it's not a problem? Was the level two pints low or a gallon?

Probably a pint or two, but with a yearly service and a sealed system it shouldn't be low.
