Elonex one the £99 laptop

Elonex one link

Only a 7" screen but i was thinking for MJ/MS or other, nice and handy size to stow away in the car.

Are there any issues with megajolt/squirt being used with linux ?

According to reports there is also a 2Gb version coming out.

I might hold back because as soon as this hits the scene (if its good and sells) all the other main players will jump in for sure.

Same as you paul i was thinking of my lad, but it would also be handy for the garage too at that price.

Looks like utter crap to me. £99 is a good price, but 300MHz... what?

There is a megatune version for Linux though, assuming this wierd CPU they've put in it is i386 compatable. If that's all you want it for it might be ok.

Cheers, Chris

The ASUS looks great bit of kit, but remember its Linux based so will feel a little alien to windows only users.

Personally i think the technology is a little new, give it 6 months and we will start seeing some real smart stuff happening

I got an EEEPC last November imported from Taiwan. I love it, and would seriously miss it.

There isn't a Linux Megajolt config tool at the moment - the author, Brent Picasso, has asked if any programmer could compile the code. He has tried to make it 'universal', i.e. not too windoze-specific.

I did some digging a while back and I reckon it's little more than a re-badged version of the AW-300 A-Book
