ebay / paypal
Arrrghhh! I sold an item on ebay last Wednesday. Got an email from paypal, saying the winning bidder has payed by e-cheque. This is supposed to
take 4 working days to clear. I make today Thursday, so that's Thur / Fri / Mon / Tue / Wed / Thu! 6 days and no money!
I've contacted the buyer and he's asked me to wait for the cheque to clear. Obviously paypals customer support are non existant.
How long is it reasonable to wait for payment?

From my experience they can take up to 14 days, they're a complete pian in the ar*e.
Cheers

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I had to wait about 10 days for mine to clear.

10 days ish for me to. It happens when the money comes from their account linked to paypal rather than a credit card. Most of the time the buyer
isn't aware that this causes a delay.

yep, about 2 weeks (10 working days). I accidentaly sent an e-cheque a week or so back, it was because my debit card had gone up an issue, so the
money came out of my bank acc, not from my card. God knows why the two are different, they are from the same account. Bloody stupid pay-pal.
I then realised my mistake, tried to cancel it so I could then send instant payment, but it doesn't let yuo cancel it. Argh.
So, all you can do is sit tight and wait, the money IS coming.

I've had a couple of these, think they took about 8 & 9 working days respectively, just hang on at least you'll get your money, after
all if they were paying instantly with Paypal they could still be saying I'll do it tomorrow etc.
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Paypal is now defaulting to bank account for me rather than the credit card so each time I have to go in and change payment method really
aggravating!

This is because they get charged for credit cards so debit cards give them more money in there pocket.
Ive just sold some thing and it has been paid for with an e cheque. Beter make sure the buyer is aware.

paypal sucs........... do a search on how they put one over on the missus.
There helpful reply was.........
"most sellers build value into the price to cover such events" or worse to that effect.
They are robbing, thieving scum, trouble is Mrs would have no business without them, or around 80% less of a business.
