Tesco Car Ins

I previously put a query on here regarding Tescos car ins.
My initial quote came out at circa £179, seen the advert for £50 off;I redid the quote putting in the promotional code SHOP50 and club card number.Low and behold the quote went up by £50 !!
I have just phoned Tesco Car Ins and they told me to use original quote and give them a ring with the club card number and they will send me the £50 of vouchers.
?is this bending the rules !!

no, it is wll known that Tesco shoppers are higher risk and you divulged that fact by supply your card number.

For me the Post Office always get me the best quote for the cover I need. --- Strangely they get NU quotes below what NU quote directly !

I found exactly the same when renewing insurance for SWMBO's car plus adding 17-year old son 2 months after passing his test: PO gave an acceptably not too outrageous quote for a NU policy.

NU direct sent me renewal on tin top 2 months ago. I checked online - £100 or so cheaper. Man on phone price matched it All through exactly the same company.

Nu will return cheaper quotes through a panel insurer (Post office for example) as NU payout a cost per sale to various affiliates and aggregators.

This cost eprsale is as much a £90 in some instances, of which roughly 70% would go to the postoffice. The post office will hold onto some of this dosh and the pass the rest into a saving to the customer.

Kinda explains why you can pocket these finders type fees by using sites such as quidco.com

Pay the same as you would if you got a quote direct you just click on a referral link associated back to your quidco account first, wait a few weeks then pocket £50 to £125 for clicking on a link first...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

A word of warning about NU. They are in the court listings in our local paper every fortnight with 20+ claims against them for non-payments. They lose most of them, but would you want the hassle?

They quoted me £3.5k for the insurance on my Mk1 MR2 as well. Insane! Ended up costing under £400 with Flux
