Hi All,

Little brother has just killed his golf....
Big end has gone and the turbo has been starved of oil.

Does anyone have rough costs for a new lump to chuck in it, about 1995 i think (Not sure on the reg) Before i head off to find some breakers.

Theyl be a fair price. Thats what people use in the vw campers. My mate at work bought one for his a couple of years ago for 500 quid. took him an age to find one.

They use they same engine in some of the Seat's and since Seat's are usually cheaper than VW you might find a good 2nd hand one for next to nothing. They were fitted to some Ibiza's Leon's and the Seat MPV thing (I forget what they called that)

There are a lot of them out there so I can't imagine that they will be expensive.

Who the f**K tightened this up!
