Or as my dear departed friend Mister Robert Kerr once said. (He was a fairly portly Gentleman)

"It might only be a wee nail, but there's some size ae a hammer chappin' it in"

God rest ye Bob.

Show me a BEC that can lift the front wheels and I'll start paying attention
While 10,000rpm redlines and sequential gearboxes are cool, they just don't have enough torque for me. Did I mention my car will have 275ft/lbs with a totally stock car engine?

That's really cool.

Pity it'll understeer like a drunken Moose on a polished wooden floor with all that weight up front

That's good. It will make me feel right at home then All I've had are heavy V8 cars so I'm used to a bit of understeer.

To be honest, I did look into a BEC but I want to put a lot of street miles on mine and keep up with my friends in their V8s. A BEC just wouldn't do that w/o making it unreliable and I've had enough of broken cars. Hence me building a lighter car, not a powerful one.
Most tracks here favour a more powerful car though. Big V8 cars tend to win over better handling 4cyl so Id guess the BEC would not do as well anyways.
