The Tramontana is a Spanish single or twin seat sports car with styling inspired by open wheel racing cars and built in Girona on the Costa Brava and
costing from £400,000, 610.000€ or $660,000 and launched at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show.
It features a mid-mounted twin turbocharged, 720 bhp (537 kW), 5.5 Litre, double overhead cam, V12 engine, 6 speed gearbox and rear wheel drive giving
a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h) and a 0-60 mph time of less than 4 seconds. The body is made of aluminium and carbon fibre, the car weighs in at 950
kg (2094.4 pounds) and the suspension is by double wishbones all round. If the two seat option is chosen, the passenger sits behind and slightly
higher than the driver. The bonnet badge is made of solid white gold.
Only 12 a year are planned to be made when production reaches full capacity in 2008. Three were scheduled to be made in 2006. (less)

Even if I could afford it I know I wouldn't buy it.
I think it's unbeleivably ugly and overpriced. Many much nicer looking cars could match or surpass it's performance for a fraction of the
cost.

I think the sales guy (or whoever he is) summed it up as a work of art you could enjoy with a cognac and a cigar on a Saturday or Sunday morning?? erm
ok, but then referring to the car as "just you and him alone"?? Perhaps he looked at that big slab of mahogany and thought it was David
Dickinson.
For 720BHP and £400k the performance is a bit ox like!!

[name drop] I saw it at the Geneva Motorshow. I have to say if anything it's worse in the flesh, and seems totally pointless. It was next the
the KTM stand, where the X-Bow was, looking like a totally focused trackday car. Then on the other side was a Gumpert Appollo, which looked
absolutely insane and could cross continents on its roof. On the far side was Konesiignnnnegg with a completely Carbon CCX running bio ethanol and
putting out 1180 bhp.
As everyone has said, it's going into a crowded market place, where there is some stiff, big name competition, looking like it hit every branch
on the ugly tree!

As nice as the Apollo is, I would still be uncomfortable telling people I owned something made by someone called Gumpert! Now there's a good
excuse for me not owning one!

Looking at as many videos of it as I could find, it looks like there is only one car drivable and I couldn't see it at over 50 mph. Some of the
promo vids show it tooling to and fro on the start finish straight of racing tracks and doing U turns at each end! Somehow a U turn and going the
wrong way on a racing track, even when it's closed, is sacrilege.

What a pile of (expensive) cr*p. Whoever buys that HAS money to throw away.
Buy hey, we can do cars in Spain, eh!
That one has been doing pretty well on the CM Spanish hillclimb championship..
Cheers,
Alex

Not my cup of tea, but I've seen uglier IMO. However, the pricing is outrageous, and performance sounds poor for that kind of power.

http://www.google.com/search?q=mitjet+series
I think it's those you mean They originated in France but are becoming popular in Spain since a specific racing series was created for them
here. They are bike powered but I don't know a lot more about them.
Have a look to a few results of that search, you will find descriptions, pics, videos and so on
The car on the previous pic is a very nice bike power hill climb car:
http://www.speed-car.com/
It uses a Quaife reverse box if I remember well, it's tiny and it's weight is around 430 kg or something. I've seen them on track
days and they go!
Sorry about the off topic Got carried away.
