can you remove the DRM on bbc iplayer wmv files? That would be useful.

Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is purely coincidental. Some assembly required. Batteries not included. Contents may settle during shipment. Use only as directed. No other warranty expressed or implied. Do not use while operating a motor vehicle or heavy equipment. Subject to approval, terms and conditions apply. Apply only to affected area. For recreational use only. All models over 18 years of age. No user-serviceable parts inside. Subject to change. As seen on TV. One size fits all. May contain nuts. Slippery when wet. For office use only. Edited for television. Keep cool; process promptly.

Funny you should ask It's supposed not to be possible yet using the latest DRM (ie if you've updated WMP recently).... You can use FairUse if you've got WMP10...

However.... I watched my first un'drm'd file last night from BBC Iplayer Haven't tried it on C4OD yet but it's the same DRM....

U2U me if you want to know how- probably best that I don't publish it online....

Tested on a WMV file downloaded using Iplayer and DRM 11.0.5721.5145 (go to Windowms Media Player under Help / About Windows Media player / Technical Support Information to find out what DRM you're using....

Apple started a major crack down on the DRM removal software around the middle of last month.

Mainly because the latest DRM software requires cracking rather than the users existing legitimately owned keys.

It certainly is

And don't bother with programs like Tunebite. IT doesn't work with the latest DRM and it's totally uneccesary!! (Tunebite interfaces with the sound driver and graphics driver and effectively recodes the information from the DRM)

It is possible to find the keys even with the latest DRM versions and then remove the DRM. Once you know how it takes all of 10 seconds to do
