T & M, Colchester
Does anyone have any experience of T & M, the people with a rolling road in Commerce Way, Colchester?
I've had one personal recommendation for them, but it would be nice to know if they're OK, or worth avoiding...

I've been there a few times for rolling road thrashes. They're ok, but they're equipment is a bit old. Engine advantages in Witham
are a more up to date but i guess it depends what work you need done!

They did a good job with my B and previous X flow both with carbs and points.
But ''Won't touch any of that computer s**t'' and ''they are only carbs ar'nt they'' was
the response when I was there last and asked about a set up for mine.

More than anything else I want to ensure that the mixture is 'safe' and not likely to damage the engine, even if it's not
perfect.
He's relatively cheap, as tuners go...

The man to see there is Ray. He is the one to set you up but....ask his advice always and dont give him any as he can be difficult but he knows his
job. He was weaned ( many years ago ) on carbs and he has always set mine up superbly. I have been going there since the early 80's. if you do
stay with the car watch at a distance and dont get in his way. He always moans about the fact my pipes should be illegal running exposed down the side
of the car, but he is so good you have to eat the humble. He is very good and it will cost you about 40 quid an hour plus the vat. The rollers are his
domain and you will get a print out on bhp but no torque. Whatever you do do not be late for your tune up or you will really wee him off. I was 10
mins once so never again.:

David,
I've already offered to do this on more than one occasion.
It would only take an hour one morning and won't cost you a penny. Can't get cheaper than that!

Sorry Doug!
I hadn't heard your voice on this forum for ages, and was wondering if you were still with us...
Yes, I would still like to do that thing sometime soon, once I've made and fitted my air filter (a week or so). It would certainly suit me
better, as that would mean that I wouldn't have to drive to Colchester and back with an untested carb setup.
Would it be easier if I fitted the lambda sensor boss, or can you cope without? It would only be a slight extra delay.
And I can give you your bit of ali tube back...
cheers,
David

I have a probe that should be ok as long as your exhaust does not have too much of a bend on the end of it?
I also have a set of jet drills in roughly the right sizes you will need that should save you some money on jets.
Just send me a U2U when you are ready and i will pop round one eve or sat morning.

I may fit the boss regardless - it's something I'd been planning to do anyway.
I will get in touch fairly soon - many thanks.
