A similar thing has happened at Elvington. People move in to the area and then complain about the noise - if it's a problem then don't
feckin move there!
It was a working airfield in WW2, with geet big bombers flying out of there...
That's also why Teesside Autodrome was out of action for the best part of 15 years, but it was all down to one old dear apparently. She lived in
a council house half a mile away, and I must point out that it's an industrial area with ICI just down the road. Anyhow, the council offered to
rehouse her anywhere she liked but the stupid old witch wouldn't move. But, once she kicked the bucket it was sold to the present owners who
have done a grand job of developing it (with a lot more to come!)!

really p!$$es me off this. Curborugh went through the same just after joined specifically to do the member's evenings around the circuit - all
down to the new resident of a single house!!
They should have absolutely no right to complain about existing noise polution (if you can call a race engine at full pelt "polution" ,
same with airports!! Ok, if there is additional noise then maybe fair enough but otherwise as said - tell them to p!$$ off

its happening all over the country. Donington Park had noise complaints too, but when the planes fly over you can't even hear the cars / bikes
on track.
Bloody people that don't think when buying houses.

The worst case I heard about was a gent who had a 5" gauge live steam model railway in his garden for over 20 years. New members moved in next
door, complained within a few months, now he's limited to certain days and times.
Similarly, there was a private airfield (literally a field) near to Ipswich that had complaints raised against it by new neighbours - the field had
been active and obeying local bylaws for decades. Fortunately in that case good sense prevailed and the authorities told the householders that they
should have checked before buying a house there. As far as I know, the field is still in use.

Peterborough showground has sold off all its surrounding land, now its covered in houses. And the speedway that happens there is under threat, partly
due to noise, but also as the flood lights are too bright. And the BMF Motorbike show there has had to move the evening entertainment offsite, and bus
people backwards and forwards.

If you build a house next to a pig farm, then complain about the smell you can get the farm shut down. Can we do anything to bring this to our
advantage? ie is there a part of society we don't like that we can move next to and complain about? How about the houses of commons? plenty of
Bull**** coming from there.

Hi just like the couple that moved into a house next door to Drayton manor theme park. Complained that there was noise and won the court battle with a
big compo pay out.
But in general ALL tracks are going to have to cut down on the noise they produce it inevitable. Pretty soon race days will be down to 102 ish db from
the current 105 db and i can see almost all trackdays heading towards a limit of 98db drive by max.
But in that report i am sure it read that Jonathan Palmer had entered in to this new agreement VOLUNTARILY. Ie trying to do his best for the locals
BEFORE they start complaining. A very clever move to get in first before the complaining starts.
Cheers Matt

These old coots have had people listening to them for too long. The same thing happened near an airport (in British Columbia) where some cadets were
learning to fly during the summer, and where rescue helicopters are based. Ironically, the guy who complained the loudest, moved a few months before,
from the second busiest airport to Vancouver! He needs to look at a map before he goes anywhere next time.

Its a joke isnt it. Ditto Oulton park and sundays, Alton towers and every ruddy other one.
- The people of Alton alway pull out the card that it 'spoils there village' but the park been there since the 80's or more, so
theres actually very few there who lived longer than its been there.
'Freefest' Our univesitys annuall free outdoor music festival (held on may bh just gone) now has to finish at 9 as of last year becuase a
small group of locals who live nearly half a mile away filled an official compaint.
Its the only outdoor music event we host in the year, its runing for well over a decade without any issue before, its one night a year only. We use a
proper engineered sound system to minimise noise polution (tall stacks of smaller units etc) And from there house you can litterally bearly hear it
because after the compaint we went over there with a ruddy sound meter.
Its just so tedious.
Its bearly dusk at nine, which makes it almost pointless to even do a proper lighting rig anymore, its just a joke. The whole countrys lost
sense!!!

Funniest one I heard of was in London, guy moved in to his new flat and 'hadn't realised' there was a fire station over the road,
tried to have it shut down because of the sirens. Muppet.
