OT - Cuff link fitment

When wearing cufflinks, do you:

A. Put one flap of the shirt cuff inside the other, so that the cufflink points towards the wrist.

Or

B. Put one flap of the shirt cuff face on to the other, so that the cufflink hangs horizontally below the wrist

I thought I knew the answer, but now someone has made be dought myself.

I put cuffs together so cufflink faces outwards.
