Can someone recommend me a good book?

im trying to learn a bit about suspension/engine tuning/aerodynamics and im after a set of decent books,

to be honest i dont want "an idiots guide to", ideally i want something technical and in depth

any recomendations?

I have been looking at Competition Car Suspension by Allan Staniforth and that looks pretty good, opininions?

are there any books out there that are the type to be on a uni reading list rather than a "armchair enthusiasts" book

Thanks for any recommendations given, much appriciated

Good choice, you might also consider:
Race and Rally car source book, also by allan staniforth.
Chassis engineering by herb adams.
and maybe The Suspension & Brakes high performance manual by des hammil.

Al.

Suspension - Race Car Vehicle Dynamics by Miliken and Miliken. THE suspension text book but very expensive and a difficult read if you're not an engineer (not much fun if you are either come to that!)

Engine - 4 Stroke Performance Tuning by A Graham Bell is an excellent all round introduction

Aerodynamics - Race Car Aerodynamics by Joseph Katz - not incredibly in depth but a good taster

'Competition Car Suspension' doesn't have much substance to be honest.
