OT Dension Icelink Help!

Hi all,

If any of you have used a Dension you may be able to help.

Right I've tried other forums over the past few days and no joy so I'm back to the font of all knowledge!

I've recently swapped a Dension Icelink Plus from a golf to passat. It all works but I cannot flick through the icelink menu using the radio controls. I want to get the control back to my ipod so at least I can use it. I managed to do this today somehow while playing with it on the M18! It locked it in ipod control mode so all happy but I don't know what I did. I have then disconnected it tnite to move the dension cradle and I am back to square one.

Dension support seems crap and no other forums seem to be able to give me answers. I have tried updating the firmware but I cannot get the update to work.

Any ideas greatly appreciated, or just messages of support will be useful as the hair has been torn out and it is now affecting family life!

Thanks,
Steve

may be a red herring, but i saw one on ebay recently advertised as being temperamental. aprantly there was a broken wire near the ipod connector. so may be worth investigating? give it a wiggle

I've had similar problems when I moved mine from my Bora to my Audi. I found that physically removing the iPod from the cradle and reinserting it gives me back control. Not perfect but it works!

Had murders with mine initally in my Espace getting into back to iPod control ..... had to find the Fast Forward control on the Espace stereo and use that to get through the IceLink menu to access the Ipod directly. And yes, Dension are useless, but once working (as it now is in the BMW) it's a great pice of kit .... not sure if that helps....
