In fairness it was a couple fan from the same side that came to the officers aid. and helped him back to his colleagues.

(grated these two fans are both Army medics)

not excusing the first groups actions!!

I'm a Celtic fan, and yes, I love to gloat at any opportunity, but the scenes in Manchester go way beyond point scoring off your biggest rivals.

I was sickened by what I just saw on the TV and can't believe the damage that they have done to the reputation of Scotland's football fans.

Shame on them!

I can't believe that UEFA won't be taking action.

Yup what did the NW of Britain do wrong to deserve 50,000 Scottish t*ssers (the official figure was 100,000ish 'fans' without tickets but I know there are decent Scottish people so I'm going 50:50 from what I saw) clogging up the roads and trashing everywhere they went..... 'it's worth £20 million to the local economy' the council said...... and the visitors were obviously out to get maximum value for money

QUOTE from youtube vid

"Police and Manchester were not prepared for us anyway.
You try and tell 30'000 drunk people that the final they have been waitin 36 years to reach, that they are not going to see it 5 minutes before it starts .
Fukin joke Manchester

Dont mess with the RANGERS
NO SURRENDER "

END QUOTE

So he watches it back, with a copper running for his life and thinks that it was perfectly acceptable behavior just because a technical failure?

Kind of makes you wonder about all the "it wasn;t the REAL fans" rubbish thats been floated.

BAN EM from europe for 36 years i say.

What other so-called "sport" attracts this level thuggery? What a great feeling to be renowned throughout the world for the level of violence displayed by "fans".

Ok, so the screen failed, youd be disappointed and annoyed - why start rioting? why? words fail me at the behaviour of these 'fans'. 15 police officers were injured in the process and thanks to them there will be no big screen next week against chelsea.

Whats worse i think is the mess that was left in the city centre

See picture here

I rekon we send the bill to rangers fc for the cleanup and as above kick em out of europe for 36 years, its disgraceful behaviour.

I agree with all the previous posts as this was totally unacceptable behavior!

The mob attack on the police officer needs technology to work for him to identify those involved in this heinous acts! Every single person who participated in that needs a custodial sentence.

Hopefully, the lack of response from all of us north of the border has not gone un-noticed.

I am only entitled to speak for myself, so I will.

I for one utterly distance myself from this sort of behaviour and personally find the whole football thing difficult to take at all. In this part of scotland it can be a very divisive force.

I know one thing, if I were a resident of, a policeman of, or a council worker of Manchester, I wouldn't be best pleased either.

Not a footy fan myself but i am scottish. All I can say is anyone who is a true scot will distance themselves from this sort of disgusting animal type behaviour. I reckon that most weekend violence in this country (Britain as a whole) is drink/football related and for the life of me cannot see the attraction of a bunch of prima donnas acting out falls and pain on the pitch. It does stir great debate and argument on a Monday morning (when all you hear is your team this and my team that), A lesser level of argument that does not escalate.
The culprits should be taken to task yes of course, but what about the innocent family guy with his kids who could at any time be among a crowd of fans who cause trouble. It must be terrifying for him/them but it does not make them trouble makers.
Manchester lifted the drinking ban in the streets as well. Why?? to make money?? or because they thought there would be more trouble spread out over all the pubs in the city?? or because the law would have been so difficult to enforce??
Either way IMHO Big matches like these will always be a recipe for disaster regardless of what team/country is playing.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

No excuse for that kind of behavour at all but, Talking of banning them is rubbish one incident 42 fans arrested from a total of 100,000. As the litter in the photo what do you expect its not as if there was enough litter bins from what i could see. Do you think it will be any different after the champions league final between Man u and chelsea. I think not will there be calls for them to be banned I think not. All this has been whored on the news because its local as in the uk. And i can gaurentee if (and hopefully not) there is any trouble in moscow The press will give us the old "influx of local gangs intent on causing violence" pish.
