a little rant
sorry about this but need to get it off my chest my wife was involved in a car accident a few weeks ago (not her fault) damage was o/s door and 1/4
panel no big problems phoned the isurance company who forwarded it to there approved accident repair centre who called me within an hour to arrange
collection ,10 days later they picked up the car
still i'm quite a patient bloke and thought no problems we've been ok to use the car , three and a half weeks later they call to
say it's done can they bring it back so they turn up with the car and it didn't even make it off the transporter paint finish was
shocking ranging from orange peel to bit's in paint ,runs and no shine so i refused to accept it and sent it back still quite calm i spoke to
the bodyshop early next morning (last tuesday) who appologised and said they would sort it out and be in touch i get a phone call on friday to tell me
car is all sorted so it came back again at first glance paint looked great on closer inspection there was loads of flatting marks under the paint or
laquer so i send it back again today i get a phone call from the bodyshop saying yes in the sun they can see the marks and to them it looks like the
paint has sunk but cant see the marks when car is in bodyshop they don't think the marks will flat and polish out so going to have to repaint
the panel again and can't promise when i'll get the car back so after a few words i ask if i can have it done by the
weekend and his response was we'll keep you updated now i'm not normally the type of person to complain but starting to get racked off
now so what would be the best way of complaining and who too sorry to go on but ready to have somebody by the throat

I think your quite right not to accept it till it is done correct, I'd also inform your insurance company of the situation as they might lean a
bit harder on them.
Check it over too as some low paid vindictive git might do some smart ass thing like loosen the oil drain plug etc. I know what some folk are like
these days.

As above, tell insurers what the crack is and insist it gets sorted. You should be able to insist it goes elsewhere. Did they give you a hire car?

Iam afraid
AM afraid its the level of service you get these days from banks that charge wot they like but for some reason cant transfer money instantly like most
of Europe has done for the last five years to car part suppliers that cant send you the parts and wont repay the money so i now have to spend time
chasing them to coppers that sit on the corner catching unwitting motorist with a cant do that list ,that makes war and peace look lie a comic . a
government that squeezes and wrings every last drop of cash out of you in taxes and proceeds to waste it or spend it on its members .and all that for
starters. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Complain to your insurance company . If the repairers get enough complaints the will end up struck off the insurers repairers list. Happened to one of
our local main dealers repair shop. Do not sign the satisfaction note until you are 100% happy.

Go through the insurance company.
Certainly do not accept it....
In my current workplace we foolishly signed a form based on a promise that "the unfinished bits would be done tommorow so really it makes no
difference"....
I'd like to point out that it wasn't me that was that green but someone with equal authority to me!!!

Get hold of the insurance company, get to speak to the original authorising engineer, it is his job to ensure the job is completed satisfactorily (I
used to be that soldier!!)
If you play it right you will get the value of the repairs in your bank, your excess waived and keep the car and your NCB restored.
Not all the approved repairers fault, they are paid so little by the insurance companies, that they can only afford to employ enthusiastic Poles with
no experience, and paint from B&Q - did you choose your insurer because they were the cheapest? Nuff said
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

As said complain to the insurance company and if you have to send the car back again, tell them you have complained. They wont want to loose the
contract with the insurance company so you should get it back ok
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

A familiar tale for me too. Sent gf's MX-5 back 4 times. If it'd gone to 'my guy' as I wanted it to, it would have been
right first time.
That's the difference between a time-served enthusiast and the Chavs you get at places like Nationwide. IMHO of course.

a little rant continues had a call from the bodyshop thismorning conversation went something along the lines of "hello mr Boddice i've
been thinking about what you said about havig your car back by the weekend , can we bring it back to you and rebook it in at sometime to resolve your
problems" my esponse was no i'll not accept it until it's done right at which he replies " well i can't promise it
for the weekend as we have the dupont paint technicians coming in sometime next week and we want them to sort your paint out "
i got a little pi**ed with him at this stage managed to keep my calm but think he realised i want my car back i have spoken to my
insurance company tonight who are going to deal with it in the morning and no it wasn't the cheapest policy i was offered i went for them as
everything was included in the policy so we'll see how we get on
