Great place - went for a good few years with my dad for the classic TT when my Grandfather was still alive and lived in Ramsey. Sadly, in a Mr Whippy
stylee, I've only driven the course in a Nissan Bluebird which I inherited from my grandad but it was fun even so You have to go at least
once if you're in anyway interested in bikes - the sound of the Manx Nortons and MVs etc going over the mountain at full chat will live with you
forever

Is there a set of pigeon holes in the pit lane where you leave your brain?

I've driven the course in a hired Ford Fiesta (and you all know that hire cars are the fastest things on 4 wheels!).
There is a downside to the TT though. I've been trying to talk to my local engine man all day and he's only just rung me back from the
workshop now.

I went in '97 to the Manx GP on my jellymould CBR600 to mechanic for a friend of mine who was racing a YZF750SP and a '93 TZ250. Each
evening I'd go for a lap round before dinner, but one evening my mate tadged the number plate back on to the YZF so I could chase him round on a
fast lap (he's done a 110mph lap, which may not sound much when the record is over 130 but believe me it's not hanging about!)...
We were stonking over the Mountain with my tacho needle buried well and truly into the red when I saw a copper parked up reading the paper. We tipped
in to a 4th gear right hander right on front of where the copper was parked, both with knees buried into the tarmac. The copper looked over the top of
his paper, turned the page and carried on reading!
