Go to a proper club and ask them. Don't get sucked into buying "game improvement" clubs: they are going to feel great but the ball
goes nowhere compared to blades. I'm not saying to go out and find a mashie niblik, but avoid the ones made to get you upgrading in no time.
There are private clubs full of guys who practically give away their clubs looking for that magic solution in their game. It is simply a game of
practice practice practice. I used to hit a bucket of balls on the range before playing 36 holes a day sometimes. You get good after a while, and it
isn't because of your clubs.
I know sweet FA about cars, but I know a lot about ice hockey and golf!!!

I'd second RK. Best bet is to pay a pro for some lessons and ask his advice on clubs whilst he teaches you.
A few years ago when I started playing again, I had a one hour lesson with the pro. Practiced what he told me for a few rounds and when it came
together it was amazing. Played the back nine at my club and dropped 2 shots. My handicap was 22 at the time.
Oh yeah, my clubs were Ryders, made in the early 70's. So I cant put much of that down to club technology.

Most decent golf shops will let you try a club on the range, friend of mine went to Lakeside shopping centre & tried out a bout 5 different sets
on a mini indoor range which scores your accuracy. The set which he felt most comfortable with were also the ones he was most accurate with. I would
be wary of advice as it will invariably lead to the clubs they make most out of (not necessarily the most expensive), or the ones they have tons of
stock of & are desperate to shift!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Golf!!!! ARRRRGGHH!! The best & the worst game ever all rolled into 1. But once you get hooked you'll be there for life
RK's point about improvement clubs is very valid BUT the important thing is to get a decent swing with the fundamentals correct in the first
place. From there you will improve.
I have been playing for a long time & keep coming back for more but you MUST get the basics right otherwise whatever clubs you get, they will not
make a scrap of difference!!
Have fun Tiger.
I WILL get out again!!
I have a little bit......need more......

There are so many people out there who think a new fancy set of clubs will improve their game that there are loads of good sets available 2nd hand. as
has been said above, find a set you feel comfortable with and then get lessons to learn how to use them properly. Only way to get rid of that hook is
to eliminate the fundamental fault in your swing (or setup) thats causing it which is where a few lessons really works.
Personally i'd start looking in the Golf Pro shops at your local courses (private as well as public) and actually ask to speak to the club pro.
Find a good pro and book a couple of lessons with him. They generally also sell 2nd hand clubs traded in by people buying new, and you are likely to
get a free session on the driving range to try out a couple of sets of interest.
In the longer term, its also likely to help you gain membership to a private club if you have had dealings with the club pro too.
Obviously the cheapest way to buy clubs is local classifieds but i'd still rather pay a few quid extra and get professional advice. Dont agree
myself with whats said above about the Pro's just selling what makes them the most profit or what they have loads of stock of. They wouldnt be a
pro too long if they didnt give their best advice.

I find with golf the more I play the worse I get whereas if I haven't played for a while I actually have quite a good round.... Something to do
with stiffening up or over-analysing my swing I think...
In the end I took this to extreme.
Now I never play and I'm bloody marvelous

i have a set of good clubs you can borrow to experiment with if you like. I dont play anymore but id rather not sell, but there are a couple with
carbon shafts etc, they deserve using. Let me know if you want to borrow them.
